![]() Testing Low Pass Filters |
Simple Test Equipment Setup This shows my set up for filter testing. The MFJ259 is the signal source with a stepped attenuated in series with the filter under test. Fixed 10 db's attenuations are inserted between the filter and the detector. The detector is an old TV field strength meter made by a French company and was used in setting up MATV systems in hotels, were losses have to be measured as part of a commission procedure. |

This is a close up of the TV fields strength meter. It is calibrated in both micro volts and Db relative to 75 ohms. I used an attenuate with 70 ohms input to 50 ohms output impedance matching pad. The frequency span is from 42 Mhz up to 550 Mhz, in three switch able ranges.
