Until recently Thailand did not permit operations on the WARC bands,160 Meters or 80 Meters other than for special occasions like major contest over the week ends. In which case operation was limited to a very narrow segment of the CW portion, but never SSB. There were chance occasions when RAST has obtained permission on all bands for operation from within the RAST club premises located in Bangkok . However in October 2007 RAST obtained permission to operate WARC with no restrictions and also during daily operation on 80 and 160 meter bands. Frequency allocation remains unchanged and is limited to the lower end CW portion of each band only. |

Whilst in Oman, time did not permit for much operating. The QTH near Seeb airport was very good. I used a three element beam on top of a three story building located 500 meters from the sea shore, with a clear line of site of the sea and surrounding areas. |

I had a total of three QTH's whilst in Bahrain, the last was on a hill with a superb take off. The three element beam toped just under 80 foot from a very small plot of land. Despite this I won four times, three of them in a row; the CQWW 160 meters contest for Asia with 90,4005 points. |
